Contemporary dance association (CDA) was granted by Ministry of Culture a status of an organization of arts creators. This will give CDA a posibility to represent Lithuanian professionals or contemporary dance.

Collaboration of Contemporary dance association (Lithuania) and Danscentrum (Sweden)

Contemporary dance association (CDA) and Danscentrum Sweden agreed to give a possibility to take daily training classes for free for their members when they are visiting each others countries.

CDA director Birutė Banevičiūtė was invited by Danscentrum to visit Stockholm on 10-14 November, 2008 met Danscentrum director Margreth Elfstrom and discussed possible collaboration of two organizations.

Raimonda Gudavičiūtė accepted as a member of CDA

The Council of CDA according information about achievments of young dancer and choreographer Raimonda Gudavičiūtė and her request, decided to accept her as a member of CDA.

With whom

Why

The Contemporary Dance Association was established in 2007 by Lithuanian contemporary dancers and choreographers, who felt the need to organize themselves aiming to represent contemporary dance community and to defend their social and artistic interests.

The mission of the Association is to influence cultural policy in order to ensure and improve working conditions for dancers and choreographers and promote contemporry dance in Lithuania. As one of the main goals the Association seeks international collaboration with cultural institutions, dance organizations and artists.
